The IDEO project attended the Walking Day “For an integrated world for people with disabilities”

Hanoi, 29th November 2014 - In response to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December and the successful Asia-Pacific Disability Forum Conference, World Concern Vietnam’s IDEO project attended the Walking Day, “For an integrated world for people with disabilities”, organized by the Vietnam Federation of Disability in association with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids & Social Welfare. This took place in the Ly Thai To Flower Garden and around the Sword Lake in Hanoi. Dibo (7) Dibo (1) This was a social event which has a deep human value. The event aimed to encourage the spirit of the people with disabilities and express the sharing of the society to them and enable their confidence in order to success in life. IDEO’s participation brought a clear message, that “Deaf children can achieve full development through using Sign Language”. The project gave support of travel to over five hundred members of several Deaf Clubs in the North of Vietnam to attend this event in Hanoi. IDEO, together with the support of the Hanoi Parents of Deaf Children Association and the Family Support Teams set up four stalls aimed at raising funds for Deaf children, and it was wonderful to watch the Family Support Teams deliver a stunning flashmob performance.
